No insurance is accepted. Payment is expected at the time of visit. You are given a “superbill” receipt with all the codes for you to get your out of network reimbursement from your insurance. Amount of insurance reimbursement depends on your plan and how much of your deductible you have met. Note: PRP is not reimbursed by insurance companies, but well worth it if you want to be back on the roads quickly (if this treatment is amenable to your injury)!
Lewis G. Maharam, MD, FACSM is one of the world’s most extensively credentialed and well-known sports medicine and running health experts. Better known as Running Doc™, Maharam is the past medical director of the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon series and current medical director of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Team in Training Program and former medical director of the New York Road Runners Club and the New York City Marathon. He has appeared on World News Tonight, Today, Good Morning America, Inside Edition, CNN, and Fox News. His work has appeared in Runner’s World and Competitor magazines, and he is the author of five books.
Dr. Maharam is Chairman of the International Marathon Medical Directors Association and a member of the American College of Sports Medicine’s Public Information Committee. He is former President of the Greater New York Chapter of ACSM. He was appointed USA Team Physician in track and field for the 1999 World Indoor Championships in Japan.
